The Sacramento Fine Arts Center (SFAC) is a California nonprofit
corporation, authorized under IRC sections 501C3, whose mission
is to contribute to the cultural life of our community. Established
jointly by independent art clubs, it is dedicated to the creation
and presentation of the visual arts. The Center is entirely self-supporting
and operated by volunteers. Its operation is made possible by
memberships, contributions, sales and rentals of art work, and
numerous community fund-raisers.
As an artist or art lover, whether you are an oil or an acrylic
painter, a watercolorist, a sculptor or work in mixed media, or
you just like to be part of the art scene, membership in SFAC
entitles you to become a member of any art club housed at SFAC.
Members may enter numerous, high quality and local and national
juried art shows. The art shows are held in our two spacious exhibition
galleries. You will meet and make friends with many other artists
who have similar goals and will have the opportunity to expand
your artistic talents with the guidance of inspirational artist
presenters.
Excellent fine art classes in most mediums and a full schedule
of workshops put on by top regional artists are offered regularly
to members and non-members.
Volunteer opportunities will increase your knowledge about art
and make you part of a network of hundreds of artists. Art Gallery
docent positions are available. There are numerous opportunities
to work as a team organizing exhibits and fundraising events.
Children’s summer Art Programs – Grades 1-6 taught
by certified teachers.
Our Gallery 3 and Foyer Galleries are rented by members throughout
the year..
Gift Shop- Special gifts, unique items, including small paintings,
jewelry, stained glass, pottery, and greeting cards.
Studio Painters – Studio open Friday mornings for all artists
to paint from a live model or Tuesdays evenings from 4:00-9:00pm
for “Hang Out and Do Art” and do your own thing. Guest
are always welcome.
The Center is open Tuesdays 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesdays
through Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
