New
– NCA $50 Worshop Series |
Workshop location: Sacramento Fine Arts Center, 5330 B Gibbons Drive, Carmichael, California There is a new product called “Aquaboard”
that you paint on with watercolors and then seal with acrylic spray varnish,
thus eliminating the need for matting and framing under glass. Aquaboard
is a clay surfaced board created specifically to be used with watercolor.
It has the unique ability to capture the full intensity of the pigment
exactly as you apply it making it possible to create very bright, bold,
intense colors. Sandy loves that you can lift the color off with ease
making it a very forgivable surface to paint on. She will focus on the
unique character of the clay surface and demonstrate the techniques for
both applying pigment and lifting it off. In one afternoon we won’t
be able to complete a painting but you should come away with a better
understanding of how to work on this unique and fun surface. Materials
